§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Wales by when he expects each of the district councils in Wales to have cleared the waiting list of claims for housing renovation grants made prior to 31 March 1984; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. RobinsonIt is not possible to give such an estimate, as not all authorities have taken steps to identify how many outstanding applications are still current. While many have cleared all those originating before 1984, others have substantial numbers outstanding. The distribution of housing capital allocations takes account of the problems of those authorities with the longest grant backlogs.
