§ Mr. Snapeasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will consider the allocation of extra funds to the Sandwell metropolitan borough council under the rate support grant settlement for housing repairs under the Housing Defects Act and subsequent amendment.
§ Mr. TraceyThe rate support grant is an unhypothecated grant and would therefore be an inappropriate tool for taking account of expenditure by a particular authority on housing repairs.
