Mr. Meadowcroft

asked the Paymaster General (1) if his Department will make arrangements with the Department of Health and Social Security whereby disabled people attending employment rehabilitation courses could continue to receive their social security benefits including housing benefit;

(2) if he will require the Manpower Services Commission to increase rehabilitation allowances in excess of state benefits as an incentive for clients to attend rehabilitation courses.
