§ Lord Avebury
asked Her Majesty's Government:
Which prison standing orders have so far been published; in what ways they have been made available to prisoners; and what the timetable is for the revision and publication of further standing orders.
The Earl of Caithness
Prison Standing Orders 3C (Calculation of Sentences), 4 (Privileges), 5 (Communications) and 12 (Civil Prisoners) have been published. Copies are available in prison libraries for prisoners to consult or they may be purchased from the Home Office Library or sent in to prisoners by relatives or friends. It is not possible to give a precise timetable for the publication of the remaining orders but the process of revision is continuing.
