asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will publish a list of current sponsors of Action for Community Employment schemes in Northern Ireland by name, contact address, number of Action for Community Employment places and tasks.

Information in the form requested could be compiled only at disproportionate cost. There are currently some 700 sponsors providing over 6,000 jobs throughout Northern Ireland.

Mr. Bell

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what arrangements for monitoring the efficiency and effectiveness of the use of the Action for Community Employment scheme are currently being made; and what plans there are for improving the effectiveness of the use of the Action for Community Employment scheme.

move away from traditional apprentice training in many industries some long duration schemes of a type which previously could have involved apprenticeships may not now be so classified.
