§ Mr. Pendryasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science, pursuant to the reply, 3 November, Official Report, columns 302–4, whether St. Nicholas preparatory school, Birmingham, and Newcourt Christian school, London, have since (a) closed, (b) met the terms of the notice of complaint or (c) had the period for compliance further extended.
§ Mr. DunnI regret to say that St. Nicholas preparatory school has failed to make the necessary improvements. The terms of the order made by the independent schools tribunal thus come into force requiring its closure by the end of the present school year. The period for compliance in the case of Newcourt Christian school runs until 31 May 1987.
