§ Mr. Adleyasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will arrange to meet in Dorset the commercial fishermen of Dorset to discuss matters currently of concern to them; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. GummerI am aware that the Dorset fishermen are concerned about a number of issues, in particular the recommendations for the future management of the bass stocks made by my scientists last July.
I have advised local fishermen's organisations that they will be consulted when any firm proposals for the management of the fishery are made, and that I would be prepared to see them if they wish to make further representations at that stage.
