§ Mr. Donald ThompsonOur proposals may cost about £4 million in 1987–88 and approach £20 million in 1988–89. However, the removal of land from agricultural production and a lower level of support will reduce expenditure under the common agricultural policy. Our proposals do not imply any change in the overall public expenditure totals.
