HC Deb 12 February 1987 vol 110 c338W
Mr. McLoughlin

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give details of those parishes to be deleted from the list of parishes with a recent history of cattleherds with tuberculosis breakdowns of badger origin.

Mr. Donald Thompson

A full review has been carried out and my right hon. Friends the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretary of State for Wales have agreed that the revisions below should be made to reflect the position at 1 January this year.

Parishes deleted from the list of "badger problem" parishes
Cornwall Quethiock
Blisland Roche
Breage St. Breock
Calstock St. Erme
Cury St. Hilary
Duloe St. Neot
Egloskerry St. Wenn
Kenwyn Towednack
Lesnewth Tresmeer
Morvah Withiel
Mullion
North Petherwin Devon
Perran Zabuloe Woodland

In the past, badger control operations in these parishes have proceeded automatically. In future, badger control operations may be undertaken in these parishes only by my Department after reference to the consultative panel on badgers and tuberculosis.

No parishes have been added to the list.

A full list of the problem parishes, taking account of the above deletions, is being made available in the Library of each House.
