asked the Prime Minister what estimate can be made of annual consumer expenditure on alcoholic drink in the United Kingdom broken down by off-licences and on-licences.

The Prime Minister

Consumers' expenditure on alcoholic drink in the United Kingdom in 1985 was estimated to be £4,117 million through "off-licences" and £11,666 million through "on-licences". These estimates are published in the Central Statistical Office blue book, United Kingdom national accounts.
