HC Deb 05 February 1987 vol 109 c808W
Mr. Barry Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people in (a) Clwyd and (b) Wales are in receipt of the State pension, giving the number of single and married pensioners in each case.

Mr. Lyell

At 31 March 1986 some 481,000 people in Wales were in receipt of a basic state retirement pension or a non-contributory over-80s retirement pension. I regret that information on the number of retirement pensioners in Clwyd is not available and that information showing the number of single people and couples who receive retirement pension is available only for Great Britain as a whole.
