HC Deb 05 February 1987 vol 109 cc773-4W
Mr. Hunter

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will now consider giving the owners of houses of the defective categories designated in the Housing Act 1985, but which never formed part of public housing stock, rights comparable to those given to owners of such housing which did once form part of the public housing stock.

Mr. John Patten

[pursuant to his reply, 2 February 1987, c. 493]: We have at present no plans to extend the housing defects legislation to cover privately developed houses.
