38. Mr. Pendry

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he next proposes to meet the chairman of the Sports Council to discuss the council's grant for the coming year.

Mr. Tracey

I refer the hon. Member to the answer given on 17 December, at column 582. My right hon. Friend has no immediate plans to meet the chairman to discuss the Sports Council grant. I do, however, meet him on a regular basis to discuss issues relating to the developing of sport.

71. Mr. Moynihan

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he last had an official meeting with the chairman of the Sports Council and what issues were discussed.

I refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave earlier today to the hon. Member for Stalybridge and Hyde (Mr. Pendry). I last met the chairman on Thursday 22 January.
