§ Mr. Peter BottomleyExpenditure on traffic monitoring, including roadside interviews by this Department in the financial year 1986–87 is expected to be some £5 million. Of this, about a quarter (£1.35 million) is spent on national traffic monitoring. The remainder (£3.62 million) relates to schemes undertaken for regional offices and includes, for the first time, traffic monitoring in London.
