§ Mr. Cartwrightasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has ever issued an order under section 14(1), subsection 91(2) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1981; whether he has ever issued an order under section 14(1), subsection 92(3) of the Education (Scotland) Act; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. John MacKayAn order was made under subsection 91(2) in November 1981 prescribing the numbers representing teaching staff, education authorities and the Secretary of State on the newly established Scottish Joint Negotiating Committee for Teaching Staff in School Education. The 1981 order remains in force. Under subsection 92(3) the Secretary of State has no power to make an order but he does from time to time appoint officials to represent him on the committee.
