HC Deb 02 February 1987 vol 109 c519W
14. Sir John Osborn

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what has been the total number of days for which the major roads across the Pennines, with the exception of the M62, have been closed to traffic between Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lancashire and Cheshire this Janary mainly due to heavy snow; and for which months in each of the past 30 years the number of such days has been the highest.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

None. There was no day last month when all the major roads across the Pennines were close. I will write to my hon. Friend with details of those roads which were closed.

I cannot answer the second part of my hon. Friend's question.
