HC Deb 02 February 1987 vol 109 cc488-9W
55. Mr. Tony Lloyd

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assessment he makes of the food situation in Mozambique; and what plans he has for further aid.

Mr. Chris Patten

We are concerned at reports of declining food supplies in Mozambique. We provided 14,500 tonnes of Zimbabwean maize in 1986. We are now sending a further 7,000 tonnes. We shall continue to watch the situation closely.
