The police and fire services use the radio frequency bands 80–84 MHz—base receive mode for the mobile radio service — and 97.6–102.1 MHz — base transmit for the mobile radio service. In addition they operate on certain frequencies in the range of 143–168 MHz. The ambulance services operate on 165–168 MHz and on 170–173 MHz.
