asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the annual amount paid to railwaymen under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme for each year they were eligible to claim under the scheme.

Mr. Mellor

The amounts paid to railwaymen are not readily identifiable and information could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
