§ Dr. Moonie
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if, mindful of the fraud perpetrated on his Department by Gateway Motor Auctions (Stirling) Ltd. in 1985 and 1986, he has instituted any changes in the monitoring of vehicle disposals; and if he will make a statement.

§ Mr. Sainsbury
Yes, I am aware of the embezzlement by the directors of the company, but it would not be in the public interest to disclose details of changes in the Department's monitoring and auditing arrangements.

§ Dr. Moonie
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what investigations he has made into the accounting procedures applied by his Department in its dealings with Gateway Motor Auctions (Stirling) Limited in 1985 and 1986; and if he will make a statement.

Following an investigation of the circumstances, not yet complete, procedures have been
