§ Mr. Viggers[holding answer 15 December 1987]: At 8 October 1987 there were 1,668 unemployed 16-year-olds and 3,327 unemployed 17-year-olds in Northern Ireland. It is not possible to determine how many 16 and 17-yearolds are currently in their final year of schooling. The numbers who leave school in the present school year can be assessed only after the end of the year.
