HC Deb 14 December 1987 vol 124 c406W
Mr. McLoughlin

To ask the Secretary of Slate for Social Services how much low and intermediate radioactive waste is produced in National Health Service hospitals in England.

Mrs. Currie

I regret that this information is not held centrally. However, in 1986 approximately 2 cu m of low-level waste from English National Health Service hospitals was disposed of at the disposal site at Drigg. Also 0.01 cu m of intermediate level waste from Cobalt 60 sources was sent for long-term storage at Harwell from hospitals in England and Wales.
