Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will visit Connah's Quay Golftyn infants school to meet members of staff, the parent governors, the parents and local councillors to discuss the proposed closure of the school; and if he will make a statement.

No proposals for the closure of Golftyn infants school have been published. My right hon. Friend would not wish to prejudice his decision in the event of any such proposals coming before him.

Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will visit Connah's Quay high school to meet staff members, parent-teachers association leaders and local councillors to discuss the proposal of Clwyd Education Authority for a change of character or closure of this school; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

I am aware that Clwyd local education authority is considering its secondary school provision but no proposals for either the closure or change in character of Connah's Quay high school have been published. My right hon. Friend would not wish to prejudice his decision in the event of any such proposals coming before him.
