§ Mr. David MitchellOn 17 November my right hon. Friend announced that he had approved a proposal by British Rail to invest in up to 204 express sprinter vehicles to be operated by the board's provincial sector. I understand that 43 of these vehicles are proposed for western cross-country services. My right hon. Friend and I stand ready to approve any further worthwhile proposals which the board puts to us.
