HC Deb 14 December 1987 vol 124 c379W
Mr. Fatchett

To ask the Prime Minister what funds have been made available to the British national space centre for the collaborative programme with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, announced after her visit to Moscow in March; and if she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

The British national space centre will consider funding any proposals for collaborative space science projects with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics within its existing budget. The British national space centre has supported three scientists to work with the USSR on a mission to Mars and its moon Phobos, and is currently discussing other possible collaborations in a number of fields, including X-ray astronomy, solar terrestrial physics and planetary science.
