To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has yet come to a decision as to the definition of the term full-time student for the purposes of section 8(6) of the Abolition of Domestic Rates (Scotland) Act 1987.

My right hon. and learned Friend will shortly bring forward draft regulations under section 8(6) of the 1987 Act incorporating the necessary definitions.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many full-time students in higher education receive fees-only grants from the Scottish Education Department(a) in Glasgow university, (b) in Strathclyde university, (c) in Glasgow college of technology and (d) in Scotland as a whole.
