§ Dr. Godman
To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether the community relations unit will examine the community relations impact of Government labour-market intervention schemes.

§ Dr. Mawhinney
A number of Government policies are being considered by the central community relations unit as possibilities for a review of their community relations impact. It is too early to decide on the precise policies or schemes to be examined.

§ Dr. Godman
To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if it is his intention to instruct the community relations unit to commission comparative research into the issue of community relations in Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

§ Dr. Mawhinney
No. However, the unit will be meeting Home Office officials to discuss areas of co-operation, including research. It will also consider the need for further research into community relations issues within Northern Ireland.
