asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his latest forecast outturn for the public sector borrowing requirement for 1986–87.

Mr. MacGregor

The public sector borrowing requirement for 1986–87 is provisionally estimated at £3.3 billion, between ¾ and 1 per cent. of GDP.
