No. The Registration of Births, Still-births and Deaths (Welsh Language) Regulations 1969 provide for a death in Wales upon which an inquest has been held to be registered in Welsh as well as in English where the coroner's certificate has been completed in both languages. The registrar is required to copy the particulars contained in the certificate precisely as they are stated therein. In this respect as with all registrations, responsibility for the accuracy of the particulars required to be registered remains with the person who provides the information and there are no plans to change this general principle.
