§ Mr. ChopeThe sale in Liverpool on 7 April was privately organised and the Department was not involved. At the end of the Mount Pleasant airport contract Laing Mowlem ARC Joint Venture, the main contractor, sold its surplus plant and equipment to a company which arranged and paid for its transportation to the United Kingdom. The purchaser arranged the sale at Liverpool (through a firm of auctioneers) and the proceeds belong to him.
