HL Deb 30 October 1986 vol 481 c895WA
Lord Melchett

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they accept the Combined Community Councils of Islay and Jura's view that "a small number of (Greenland Whitefront) geese occasionally roost in a remote corner" of Duich Moss Site of Special Scientific Interest on Islay, and, if so, on what scientific surveys of the geese they base their acceptance of this view, and whether the Nature Conservancy Council accept this view.

The Minister of State, Scottish Office (Lord Glenarthur)

No. The Government consider that the quotation understates the extent to which geese roost on the Moss.
