HC Deb 21 October 1986 vol 102 cc791-2W
Mr. Canavan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland pursuant to his written reply to the hon. Member for Falkirk, West on 25 June 1986, Official Report, column 202, what investigation he has made into the relatively high number of unexplained animal deaths in the parish of St. Ninians.

Mr. John MacKay

Having regard to the high density of cattle maintained in the parish of St. Ninians, the number of unexplained animal deaths there is relatively no higher than the numbers elsewhere in Central Scotland. Investigations beyond those described in my reply to the hon. Member on 24 October 1985 at column236 would not therefore be warranted.
