§ Mr. Kennedyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give details of the composition of the advisory committee to be set up under the Salmon Act 1986.
§ Mr. John MacKayAs announced on 23 October, Professor George Dunnet, regius professor of natural history at the University of Aberdeen has agreed to serve as the Salmon Advisory Committee's first chairman. Fisheries Ministers in Great Britain are currently receiving nominations for committee membership from representative bodies concerned with all aspects of salmon. Full details of the composition of the committee will be given as soon as we have completed our consideration of the nominations received. The Salmon Advisory Committee is a non-statutory body and is not established under the Salmon Act 1986.
