§ Mr. David HuntThe Energy Efficiency Office is supporting a monitoring and targeting (M&T) programme aimed at developing and introducing M&T within 40 major energy consuming sectors: 25 sectoral projects are under way at present; 11 systems have already been fully developed for promotion within their sector. The programme is proving highly effective: savings averaging 10 per cent. are being realised from the adoption of M&T systems. The programme aims to achieve energy savings of some £300 million per year.
