HC Deb 17 November 1986 vol 105 c22W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what study he is making of proposals in connection with the Channel tunnel with regard to a regional network of inland customs clearance centres at railway marshalling yards; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

I understand that British Rail is still examining the pattern of inland clearance centres that would be appropriate for dealing with Channel tunnel freight traffic. It will be its responsibility to put forward proposals for consideration in due course.
