§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make an urgent official visit to the regional health authority in the north-west and district health authorities in Manchester to hear about their funding problems and in particular, the closure of hospital wards and the shortage of nursing staff.
§ Mr. Newton[pursuant to his reply, 5 November 1986, c. 476]: I was at Hope hospital, Salford, yesterday for public consultation on primary care, and expect to visit central Manchester on 12 December to lay the foundation stone for the £30 million redevelopment of the Manchester royal infirmary.
