(2) what was the total cost to public funds of the vehicles and equipment from the Falkland Islands at present stored at Liverpool freeport prior to disposal by auction;
(3) how many of the vehicles from the Falkland Islands at present stored at Liverpool freeport prior to disposal by auction have never been in use;
(4) what was the total cost of transporting the vehicles and equipment at present stored at Liverpool freeport from the Falkland Islands to Liverpool;
(5) when he proposes to commence the auction of the vehicles and equipment from the Falkland Islands at present stored at Liverpool freeport; and over how many days he anticipates the auction will last;
(6) if British buyers will be allowed to bid in the auction of vehicles and equipment from the Falkland Islands at present stored at Liverpool freeport.
§ Mr. ChopeAt the conclusion of the Mount Pleasant airport project the contractor, the Laing-Mowlem-ARC joint venture sold its surplus plant and equipment to a company which arranged and paid for transporting to the United Kingdom. This company has now arranged an auction at Liverpool, which is open to prospective buyers worldwide.
The original cost of the plant formed part of the total contract price agreed with LMA.
