§ Mr. Corbynasked the Secretary of State for Energy what is his latest estimate of the proportion of the capital cost of coal-fired power stations that would be required to provide these stations with equipment for the removal of sulphur dioxide from the emissions made by these stations.
§ Mr. GoodladI have been advised by the CEGB that the installation of equipment for a substantial reduction in the sulphur dioxide emissions from a 2,000 MW coal-fired power station would result in an increase of approximately 15 per cent. in the total capital cost.
