§ Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on his recent visit to Liverpool.
§ Mr. HurdI visited Merseyside on 16 May. I visited the Department's computing and pay branch at Bootle where I discussed the work of the branch and met members of staff. After lunch with local business men and a visit to Albert dock, I visited the Merseyside police drug squad and had discussions with senior and operational officers about the scale of drug misuse in the area and the force's response in relation to drug misusers and to the activities of drug dealers and traffickers.
