§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Wales (1) how many children will be affected by proposals to close all of Dyfed county council residential children's homes;
(2) in the light of recent proposals to close Dyfed's residential children's homes, what provisions will be made for those adolescents who cannot be placed in resource centres or foster homes because of severe emotional and social problems.
§ Mr. Mark RobinsonThis is a matter for Dyfed county council to determine in line with its assessment of the needs and best interests of the children in care. I understand that the council has not reached any final decisions and that the proposals do not include the closure of all residential children's homes in the county.
