HC Deb 24 March 1986 vol 94 c384W
Mr. Frank Field

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why the requests from the Civil and Public Services Association to initiate job-sharing schemes in the Customs and Excise department in Merseyside have been refused.

Mr. Brooke

Requests from the Civil and Public Services Association to initiate job-sharing schemes in the customs and excise department in Merseyside have not been refused. A local circular has been issued inviting applications; a number have been received and these are now under consideration. Centrally, a draft circular has been put to the trade union side with a view to distribution throughout the department in the near future.
