HC Deb 17 March 1986 vol 94 c26W
Mr. Thornton

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what were the results of the recent bilateral negotiations held between the United Kingdom and Canada on air services, between the two countries; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Michael Spicer

The UK-Canada air services negotiations held in London in late January were initiated by the UK with a view to replacing the existing 1949 air services agreement with new arrangements more responsive to market requirements. Useful progress was made, and it is expected that the negotiations will be resumed shortly.
