Mr. Ashdown

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he has consulted companies or organisations to be visited by Mr. Paul Hopler or Mr. Clarence Robinson of the Pentagon; and if he has explained to those bodies what powers Mr. Hopler has.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what approaches he has had from the United States Government with a view to imposing security classifications on United Kingdom research and development not connected with his Department's defence contracts.
