§ Mr. Giles ShawI understand from the Commissioner that no CS gas containers or water cannon have been issued to N district. All districts in the Metropolitan police hold a small number of riot shields.
§ Mr. Corbynasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department on how many occasions since January 1984 police have been brought into N district from other divisions.
§ Mr. Giles ShawBetween 1 January 1984 and 13 March this year, officers from other districts were deployed on N district on 72 occasions.
§ Mr. Corbynasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list the number of occasions that firearms have been issued to police in N division by month since January 1984.
§ Mr. Giles ShawThe available records show the number of police operations in which firearms were issued, rather than the number of separate occasions; and they are maintained on an annual basis and could not, without disproportionate expense, be shown on a monthly basis.
