HC Deb 10 March 1986 vol 93 c376W
Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many posts at district level in the Stockport district health authority's new management structure will be held by people with a nursing qualification; and how many in the management structure of the proposed acute and maternity unit will have nursing qualifications;

(2) if he will set out the top 10 management posts in the Stockport district health authority, with salaries, before the Griffiths re-organisation, and the top 10 posts after, with salaries; and if he will indicate which of the people in post before re-organisation obtained jobs in the re-organised structure; how many of the new posts were advertised and filled by competition; and how many were not.

Mr. Hayhoe

A professionally qualified chief nursing officer is a full member of Stockport health authority's district management board. I regret, however, that all the detailed information necessary to answer the rest of the hon. Member's points is not held centrally. He may wish, therefore, to make inquiries of the chairman of North-Western regional health authority, which is responsible for approving the management structures and appointments for its constituent district health authorities.
