§ 50. Mr. Tom Coxasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what action he is taking to ensure the safety standards of gas appliances imported into the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. HowardI announced on 13 December that new regulations were to be prepared to ensure that both new and second-hand gas cookers sold in the United Kingdom meet proper safety standards. This will apply to both imported and home-produced goods. If I see a need for legislation for other gas appliances, I shall introduce it later.
