§ Mr. Macleanasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assessment he has made of the 185W implications for the effectiveness of the operation of the Data Protection Act of the current number of registrations under the Act.
§ Mr. WaddingtonIt is too early to make such an assessment. Applications for registration are still being received by the Date Protection Registrar, who is to carry out research into the impact of the Act on businesses and into the number of data users who may still need to register.
