§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what information he has as to how much sewage is disposed of into the Forth estuary from (a) pipelines and (b) ships.
§ Mr. AncramSewage from a population of some 1.2 million people plus industry and commerce is discharged from local authority sewers to the Firth of Forth, including the estuary and tidal reaches of rivers. This amounts to some 115 million gallons per day, of which 80 per cent. is treated. The Scottish Development Department has no information on the volume of sewage discharged from ships.
