§ Mr. Spencerasked the Paymaster General what response he has sent to the chief executive of Leicester city council regarding his request for a six-week work permit 15W for a Polish national permanently resident in Strasbourg, who wishes to join a training attachment for Strasbourg secretaries organised by the Leicester/Strasbourg twinning association, which his Department is dealing with under reference GW 8608681.
§ Mr. LangAn official in my Department's overseas labour section telephoned the chief executive on 10 June to explain that the application could not be approved because it did not satisfy the requirements of the work permit scheme. A letter confirming in detail the reasons for this decision will be sent shortly.
