§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, pursuant to the answer of 12 June, Official Report, column 301, when he expects to complete his consideration of the possibility of issuing further guidance or reminders to health authorities about clinical research investigation involving children, and about references of such investigations to local ethical committees; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. WhitneyIn reaching a decision on whether to issue further guidance or a reminder to health authorities on clinical research we will wish to take account of the views of relevant professional and other bodies on the need for such guidance. Consultations will begin as soon as possible.
